Welcome to L.A. Dance School

Established in 1996 by head choreographer/dance teacher Leanne Yorke and with the assistance of senior “Red Helpers”, L.A. Dance School has been producing award winning dancers in and around Edinburgh for 12 years.

In recent times L.A Dance in contest with 30 dance schools, senior “Red Helpers” lead by director/choreographer Leanne Yorke, qualified for the finals of the Scottish Street Dance Championships. For this demonstration of enthusiasm and expertise the school was awarded £1000 by Coca-Cola™ and the Evening News™.™.

The school team was again selected in 2005 by Coca-Cola™ and the REV™ street dance championships finals to perform in Princess Street Gardens stage show along with Kelly Le Roc the R&B singer.

Since then the school has also won a Community Council Achievement Award from Port Seton and Cockenzie Council. And besides being regularly selected for pantomimes two of our senior dancers have been picked to dance in a Video!

Introducing Miss Gemma Knight BA honours Degree. Miss Knight has taught and performed in New York, The Edinburgh Playhouse, The festival Theatre. Gemma has a wonderful, fun teaching technique which here at L.A dance “we smile while we learn”.
